Relationship to the OPAC

Oddly enough our periodicals database came into being as a means to provide easy access to information about our print journal collection. Innovative Interfaces is able to create a "scoped" search of the periodicals collection, this costs a significant amount of money.

So we are able to output bibliographic data from our catalog, which is parsed with Perl, and then input into the periodicals database. At present there are 20676 records in the periodicals database which are obtained from the online catalog.

We also have included a link from our WebPac to the periodicals database, as well as links from citations in the database back to the WebPac. Take a look.
