Library Strategic Plan Initiative and Goals
Initial goal: Generate ejournal database output in format that can be converted with MARCMaker software
MARC fields in database output:
Use template to generate output from e-journal database: http://www.library.vcu.edu/cfapps/jbc/instruct/vivamarc.cfm
Perform minor cleanup of records (e.g., using “find/replace all” function, perl script, etc.)
Convert resulting records into MARC transmission format
FTP records into online catalog
Plan for replacing records periodically
