Travel:

VIVA will reimburse VIVA members from both public and private institutions for travel to and from this meeting.

Travelers needing to stay overnight must submit IN ADVANCE a travel authorization form to the VIVA office (viva@gmu.edu). (See a sample authorization form here.) Lodging reimbursements for one-day events are typically only approved when the traveler resides more than a two and a half hour drive from the event venue.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Linden Row Inn in Richmond. Shuttle service will be available to the Forum. Individuals are responsible for their own reservations and cancellations.


To make a reservation at the Group Rate, please follow these instructions:


1. Go to the Reservations Page at www.reservations.lindenrowinn.com 
2. Select your Arrival and Departure Dates and Number of Adults
3. Enter the following Access Code for your Group to view your discounted rate: VIVA16
4. Click on Search for Availability and Pricing
5. Select the appropriate Room Type
6. Complete Reservation Form including Contact and Payment Information
7. Click on Cancellation Policy check-box and submit the Reservation Form

The closest parking decks to Cabell Library are:

  • West Main Street Deck at 801 W.Main Street
  • West Broad Street Deck at 1111 W. Broad Street

 

VIVA will reimburse parking as part of travel to and from this meeting. Parking is $1 for the first hour and $2/hr for subsequent hours, with the max cost being $10 for the day. For those staying overnight at the Linden Inn, parking is available for $18 a day, with in and out privileges VIVA will reimburse this cost as well.
