The VIVA Resource Sharing Committee and Interlibrary Loan Subcommittee are pleased to announce the
10th Annual VIVA Interlibrary Loan Community Forum.

8:30-9:15 Registration, Continental breakfast 9:15-9:30 Welcome, introductions, recognitions 9:30-10:20 Suzy Szasz Palmer, Director of Research and Information Services Division at the Library of Virginia, will speak on services the Library of Virginia can provide to other VIVA libraries. The emphasis of her talk will be on digitized and microfilmed Virginia public records, newspapers, and genealogical materials. 10:20-10:30 Break 10:30-11:10 Community discussion on best practices: International ILL 11:15-12:15 “Analyzing Interlibrary Loan: Practical Scenarios,” Russell Palmer, SOLINET 12:15-1:15 Lunch 1:15-2:15 “Where are we with Odyssey?” Stuart Frazer and Elizabeth Teaff wil update attendees on the use of Odyssey by VIVA members. 2:15-2:45 Solinet Update (Russell Palmer) 2:45-3:00 VIVA Update (Kathy Perry) 3:00-3:15 VIVA ILL Goals for 2008/2009 (Stuart Frazer) 3:15-3:30 Closing (Jim Verdini) |

| Travel: | VIVA will reimburse VIVA members from both public and private institutions for travel to and from this meeting. Travelers that will be staying overnight must submit a travel authorization form to the VIVA office (viva@gmu.edu or fax to 703-993-4662). A block of rooms has been reserved at Sweet Briar College's Elston Inn & Conference Center. Please call them directly (434.381.6207) to get the Conference Rate of $70 and be sure to mention that you are with the VIVA group. The state's maximum allowable for the lodging rate is $70 before taxes and the M&IE rate for Sweet Briar is $39. Travel days are reimbursable at 75% of the rate. See the VIVA travel guidelines for further information. A second block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Select, 601 Main St., Lynchburg. Please call the hotel at (434) 528-2500 for reservations.( The reimbursable lodging rate for Lynchburg is $72 before taxes and M&IE is $44.) Please mention that you are with the VIVA group. |
