VIVA Adds Four Institute of Physics Journals
The Virtual Library of Virginia
PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release (December 20, 2005)
VIVA, the Virtual Library of Virginia, is pleased to announce that four journal titles from the Institute of Physics (IOP) have been added to the impressive list of scholarly physics journals available electronically to VIVA institutions. The Institute of Physics is a leading international physics publisher and society with over 37,000 members.
In February of this year, VIVA concluded an agreement with IoP that gave Virginia college students and faculty access to the current contents of 31 IoP journal titles. Previously, the archives of those journals (some in print since 1874) had become available to institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth, adding a wealth of scientific information: over 1.5 million pages of research in over 100,000 articles.
New titles added are:
-
Journal of Geophysics and Engineering, which covers all earth-physics disciplines.
Journal of Neural Engineering, which publishes interdisciplinary articles at the intersection of neuroscience, neurobiology, and engineering.
Physical Biology, a journal focusing on the integration of biology with quantitative scientific fields, and
Physica Scripta, a journal published by IoP on behalf of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Internet access to begin in 2006).
