Special Collections at the Virtual Library of Virginia
The special collections departments at Virginia's colleges and universities and its state library collect, preserve, and provide access to unique resources. Through Internet access many more citizens of the Commonwealth and beyond can know of the availability of these resources. Through scanning, digitizing, and original electronic documents, access is becoming available to the guides, finding aids, and electronic collections. Unique Virginia resources are being converted from sometimes fragile and delicate materials, to electronic text and digital images available to many simultaneous users at all hours of every day.
