VIVA RFP - American Psychological Association

Responsibilities

RFP for the licensing of online access to American Psychological Association resources currently licensed by VIVA [PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES.] Request both VIVA pricing and discounts for individual institutions for new resources [e.g. PsycEXTRA, PsycBOOKS] with the understanding that the state's economic climate may prohibit new VIVA-wide subscriptions. Request pricing for online version of the Publication Manual of the APA (if available.)

All communications regarding this RFP and the VIVA Community must be directed to the JMU Procurement Office, attention: Iris Moubray.

 

Schedule

October and November 2009: Draft RFP
December 9, 2009: RFP released by JMU Procurement.
February 3, 2010: Sealed proposals due to JMU Procurement at 3 P.M.
February 15 - April 12, 2010: Trials available for all VIVA members.
March 11, 2010: VIVA will convene a 1-day Vendor Fair at the University of Richmond, allowing VIVA members a chance to see presentations by the finalists and to ask questions of the finalists.
March 31, 2010: Evaluations by VIVA members due.
April 16, 2010: RFP Committee meeting.
May: Final negotiations with vendors.
May and June TBD: VIVA Resources for Users Committee and VIVA Steering Committee to review recommendations.
August 1, 2010: Service to be available to VIVA.

 

Trials

Trials of the finalists' products are available to all VIVA members (both public and private institutions) from February 15 - April 12. Authentication is by IP address.

Evaluation

The evaluation survey is available online. All VIVA librarians are encouraged to evaluate the 3 finalists for the APA products and to fill out the evaluation survey no later than March 31, 2010.
