VIVA's choice of electronic resources is based upon the VIVA Collection Development
Principles and Selection Criteria.
Electronic resources and digitized images
from the collections of the libraries are shared freely among the consortium
and with others as licensing terms permit; however, our contracts sometime
restrict access to VIVA only.
VIVA has assigned one person as the principal contact
to each major product. The Collections contact is concerned
with evaluating, acquiring, and renewing products.
Using the contacts is especially helpful in trouble-shooting
problems when there are systematic problems or it is not clear if the
problem is a vendor's or a VIVA server. However, VIVA libraries should
also feel free to contact the various vendors directly should problems
arise, particularly if timely resolution is an issue. Libraries in general
should treat problem resolution with vendors as if the vendors were contracting
directly with each library, and accordingly demand the same level of service.
